What is the job market for CNAs like?
I heard that there is a nursing shortage myth, and that the market is saturated with too many nurses.
Is that true for CNAs too?
I was thinking after a few weeks of getting the CNA certificate I could get a CNA position right away. I am thinking in particular overnight shifts at either at nursing home or home health agency. Do you think the market is good enough that I can get an overnight position soon after getting my certificate?
The job market is amazing. Healthcare is a profession where you'll always have jobs available to you. Everyone will need some sort of healthcare one way or another. Now, many of the CNA nurses are in it short term because they want to jump into registered nurses or a higher position so vacancies do open up. I mean I made the jump after a year of being a CNA into a RN. Also, with shortage of healthcare becoming an issue within the United States, I think they need CNA to take on more workload which means more of them will be hired. Good Luck!
