A very good question because the answer will depend on the state you live in and years of experience. However, here's what you can expect in terms of salary when entering the healthcare profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Certified Nursing Assistants make around $28,530 per year which comes out to $13.72 per hour. This is based on the statistics gathered in the year of 2018. The good news is the outlook for CNA's is supposed to grow by 11% from 2016 - 2026 which means with demand you may see a slight increase in salary. Some other factors do determine your yearly and hourly pay. For example, state does play a major role in your average salary. In the state of California, Certified Nursing Assistants can make $35,220 which is $16.93 per hour. Also, Alaska has pays approx $39,830 per year (19.13 per hour.
